Joseph Beaulieu, Sr.

OXFORD - Joseph G. Beaulieu Sr., 85, of Woodland Drive, died Sunday, November 8, 2009, in his home. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gloria A. (Robinson) Beaulieu of Oxford; a son, Joseph G. Beaulieu Jr. of Charlton; a daughter, Janice E. Pierce and her husband Robert of Rutland; a brother, Francis G. Beaulieu of Scottsville, NY; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He was born in Uxbridge, the son of the late Alfred and Ida M. (Henry) Beaulieu, and lived in Uxbridge, Worcester, and Auburn, before moving to Oxford in 1958. He graduated from Uxbridge High School in 1942. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Beaulieu worked at New England Envelope in Worcester for 10 years, retiring in 1985. Previously, he worked at United States Envelope in Rockville, CT, for 25 years. In retirement, he worked at Interstate Gasket in Leicester for 11 years. Mr. Beaulieu was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Oxford, where he also served as Senior Warden, Vestry person, Chalice Bearer, lay reader, and choir member. He also assisted with janitorial work at the church, and enjoyed refurbished furniture and working with wood. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Oxford for 15 years. A private family funeral service will be held at Paradis Funeral Home in Oxford. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Episcopal Church, 270 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540.
