John Zimatravich

WORCESTER - John P. Zimatravich, 57, of Plantation Street, died Friday, August 28, 2015, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, after a long illness. He is survived by three sisters, Catherin M. Ivascyn and her husband Daniel of Charlton, Judith A. Kosnoski and her husband Charles of Webster, and Susan Horanzy and her husband Frank of Webster; three nephews and nieces, Daniel J. Ivascyn and his wife Tatiana Freitas of Newport Beach, CA, Jennifer Dowdle and her husband Michael of Charlton, and Gregory Kosnoski and his wife Alexa of Douglas; three great nieces, Ivy and Clara Dowdle, and Antonia Kosnoski; and several cousins and friends. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Catherine P. (Murray) Zimatravich, and lived most of his life in Worcester. Mr. Zimatravich graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster and received his bachelor's degree in economics from Clark University. He was a regional manager for the Massachusetts Division of Career Services for many years, retiring in 2012. A private graveside service will be held at Rural Cemetery in Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
