WEBSTER - John A. "Jack" Young, 68, of Vine St., died Thursday, March 25, 2010, in his home with his entire family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ruth E. (MacDonald) Young of Webster; three daughters, Lorrie E. (Young) MacDonald of Dudley, Allison M. (Young) Moran of Webster, and Christen R. Young and her husband Shawn Young of Webster; nine grandchildren, D.J., Brittany, Charlie, and Camden MacDonald, Matthew and Michael Moran, and Caitlin, Jack, and Lauren Young; two nephews and two nieces. He was born in Boston, the son of the late Milton P. and Alice L. (Ames) Young, and moved to Webster in 2002. He graduated from Bentley College in 1972 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Jack owned and operated Ames and Young General Contractors with his business partner and son-in-law, Shawn. Previously, he was a Rehab Specialist for the City of Newton and was the owner of R-LAC Realty. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newton. Jack was a member of the Norumbega Lodge of Masons and a Shriner at the Aleppo Temple in Boston. He enjoyed woodworking, the Red Sox, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery in Webster. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
