John Stafford, Sr.

OXFORD - John R. Stafford, Sr., 75, of Beverly St., died Friday, January 8, 2010, in his home. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Constance C. (Bibeau) Stafford of Oxford; six children, John R. Stafford, Jr. and his wife Sally of Leicester, Jean M. Stafford Hohler of Dayville, CT, James H. Stafford and his wife Cindy of Woodstock, CT, Jeffrey P. Stafford and his wife Jane of Oxford, Judy A. Krasowsky and Sandor Harmat of North Oxford, and Robert J. Stafford of Oxford; three sisters, Rita Merriam of Marlborough, Theresa M. Braney of North Oxford, and Ann Hansen of Oxford; nine grandchildren, Sarah, Shawn, Joseph, Jill, James, Rachel, Christopher, Rebecca, and Jennine; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Kasputis and Grace Kasputis, both of Millbury. He was born in Oxford, the son of the late Harry N. and Georgiana V. (King) Stafford, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1953 and was in the Army Reserve. Mr. Stafford worked at Wyman-Gordon in North Grafton for over 40 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Ann's Church in North Oxford. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Monday, January 11, 2010, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
