John O'Connor

OXFORD - John F. "Jack" O'Connor, 83, died Sunday, January 5, 2014, at Lanessa Extended Care in Webster. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret J. (Dooling) O'Connor of Oxford; six children, John O'Connor of Arlington, VA, Katherine Randall of Peachtree City, GA, Daniel O'Connor and his wife Debbie of Orlando, FL, Thomas O'Connor and his wife Maureen of Dudley, Timothy O'Connor and his partner, Melissa Ford, of Oxford, and Kevin O'Connor and his wife Joanne of Oxford; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late G. Frank and Katherine (Ryan) O'Connor, and lived most of his life in Oxford. Mr. O'Connor was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was an accountant at New England Electric and Yankee Atomic Company for 40 years, retiring in 1992. Mr. O'Connor and his wife relocated to Clearwater, Florida 20 years ago. He volunteered at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor and was a member of St. Michael's the Archangel Parish in Clearwater. Before retirement, he was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford, where he served as a Eucharistic minister for many years. He enjoyed golfing, Clearwater Beach and his family's visits to Florida. Calling hours are Friday, January 10, 2014, from 8:30-10 a.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford.
