DUDLEY - John Lougie, 88, of Dudley and formerly of Webster, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at Radius Healthcare Center of Southbridge. He was the beloved husband of the late Claire (Boulanger) Lougie. He is survived by his 2 sons, Paul Lougie and his wife Jean of Oxford, and Kenneth Lougie and his wife Cheryl of Pittsford, NY; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Lougie and his wife Stephanie of Dudley, with whom John lived with and was cared for by for the past 5 years, Jennifer Pfeffer and her husband Christopher of Barrington, RI, Peter Lougie of Oxford, Christine Lougie and James Wambugu of Webster, Kiana Lougie and Corina Lougie from Pittsford, NY; five great grandchildren, Nathan, Ashley, Emma, Johnathan, and Claire; a brother, Benjamin Lougie of Worcester; and two sisters, Betty Palumbo of Upton and Dorothy Beaupre of Worcester. John was born in Barre in 1922, the son of the late Frank and Anna (Klem) Lougie. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 - 1946 under General George S. Patton and fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He was served with the Bronze Star for Outstanding Battle, and was decorated with many additional medals. John later worked at Presmet Corp. in Worcester as a machinist, retiring in 1989. John loved fishing with his grandsons, hunting, vacationing in New Hampshire, and especially going to bingo. Memorial calling hours are Sunday, March 6, 2011, from 1-3 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with military honors. Burial will be at a later date.
