OXFORD - John King, 83, of Old Webster Road, died peacefully on Monday, March 7, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lorraine B. (Ellis) King; two daughters, Denice A. Vignali and her companion Mark Bishop of Dudley, and Darlene A. Thornton and her husband Steven of Oxford; three grandchildren, Carly Whitcraft and her husband Chad, Brett Vignali and Gwen, and Dayna Vignali and her companion Mike Mahota; three great grandchildren, Cole Vignali, Abby Vignali, and Sarah Whitcraft; and many nephews and nieces. He was born in Oxford, the son of the late Fred X. and Justine (Landry) King, and lived in Oxford for the past 58 years. Mr. King was a foreman and truck driver at the former Reed and Prince Company in Worcester for 40 years. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida, camping, playing cards, woodworking, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Webster Manor Nursing Home for their exceptional care during John's time there. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 14, 2011, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be at a later date at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Monday, March 14, 2011, from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
