John Hay

September 22, 1943 — May 7, 2011

CHARLTON - John Hay, 67, of Carpenter Hill Road, died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at UMass Memorial Hospital - University Campus, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his devoted companion, Martha Clarke of Charlton; four children, Jennifer Graves and her husband Scott of South Hadley, Jacquelyn Hood and her husband James of Canton, GA, Elizabeth Benoit and her husband Steven of Rochdale, and Zachary Jeneral of Oxford; four very dear grandchildren, Emma, Cora, Jimmy, and Gracie; two loving sisters, Cookie Benard and her husband John of Milford, CT, Darlene Miller and her husband Frank of Windsor, CT; and all his many favorite nephews, nieces, and good friends. He was born in Newark, NJ, the son of the late John and Josephine (Rey) Hay, and lived in Charlton for many years. Mr. Hay worked in sales at the Jack Farrelly Company in Worcester for over 10 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War. His favorite past times were riding his 89 Harley and coffee with the "Old Guys Rule" Coffee Club. Memorial calling hours are Thursday, May 12, 2011, from 5-7 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A prayer service will be at the conclusion of calling hours at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
