NORTH OXFORD – John G. Greany, Jr., 67, of Turner Road, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Debra L. (Kubesh) Greany of North Oxford; two sons, Patrick J. Greany and Kevin M. Greany, both of North Oxford; three sisters, Suzanne C. Ezen of Jefferson, Darla J. Johnson of Auburn, and Maureen A. Blanchard of Worcester; his mother-in-law, Barbara A. Caouette of Charlton; five nephews and two nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Paul V. Greany. He was born in Worcester, son of the late John G. and Christine J. (Hudson) Greany Sr., and lived in Auburn before moving to Oxford 37 years ago. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1966.
Mr. Greany worked as a land surveyor for G.C.G. Associates for 4 years, retiring in 2015. Previously, he worked for Cullinan Engineering in Auburn for 44 years. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, listening to music, watching Bobby Orr play for the Bruins, and loved the Patriots. He will be remembered as a great husband, father, brother, and provider, and a good family man.
Services will be held privately. Burial will be private at North Cemetery in Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, or to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
