OXFORD - John F. Foley, 79, of Wheelock Street, died Friday, May 10, 2013, at Sandalwood Nursing Home in Oxford. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia A. (Lenihan) Foley of Oxford; four children, John F. Foley, Jr. and his wife Anabelle of Charlton, Patrick J. Foley and his wife Angela of Concord, NC, Colleen Rocheford and her husband Wayne of Charlton, and Robin Tremblay of Charlton; two sisters, Mary Noel of Connecticut and Jacqueline Drasknis and her husband Edward of Florida; 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late John and Agnes (Watson) Foley, and lived in Oxford since 1978. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Foley was a safety inspector for the Massachusetts Highway Department for over 10 years, retiring in 1995 due to illness. Previously, he worked for the Local 243 Laborer's Union and was a driver for S.C.R.R.I. in Southbridge. He was a member of St. Ann's Church in North Oxford and enjoyed volunteering at the fall festival at the church. Mr. Foley was a member of the Father Dennis J. Rocheford Knights of Columbus Council 4241 in Oxford. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Worcester and the Disabled American Veterans. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date. Calling hours are Monday, May 13, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann's Church, P.O. Box 488, North Oxford, MA 01537.
