OXFORD – John A. Belsito, 76, of Wheelock Street, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his wife of 29 years, Joan M. (Coleman) Belsito of Oxford who died in 1996. He is survived by two children, John J. Belsito and his wife Sharman of Aliso Viejo, CA, and Joy M. Garcia of Oxford; three sisters, Kay Belsito of Grafton, Dorothy Rucci of Auburn, and Joyce May of Millbury; three grandchildren, Ryan Belsito of Laguna Hills, CA, Zachary Garcia of Oxford, and Ava Belsito of Aliso Viejo, CA; his companion of 15 years, Johanne V. Kimelaskas of Worcester; and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur and Roy Belsito; and a sister, Ruth Fjellman. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Arthur and Rose (Morello) Belsito, and lived in Millbury before moving to Oxford in 1967. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Belsito worked at Norton Company in Worcester for over 25 years, retiring in 2002. He loved pitching horseshoes and was a Massachusetts state champion in the mid-80’s. He enjoyed square dancing and line dancing with his wife, and spent summers camping in Douglas.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 14, 2016, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Sunday, March 13, 2016, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
