Jean Robinson

WEBSTER - Jean A. (Deveau) Robinson, 77, of Wawela Park Road, died peacefully at home on March 27, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, George J. Robinson of Webster, who died in 2009. She is survived by four daughters, Susan Jefferson and her husband Phil of Hamilton, Kathleen Robinson of Webster, with whom she lived, Sharon Chase and her husband Vance of New Jersey, and Carol Daly and her husband John of Douglas; her son, Lt. Col. George Matthew Robinson, USMC, and his wife Jill of Virginia; her sister, Dorothy A. Hines and her husband Robert of Millbury; ten grandchildren, Tabitha, Brian, Jake, Luke, Nicholas, Julia, Jack, Colin, Mark, and Mary; three great-grandchildren, Ella, Dustin, and Kaden; and four nephews and nieces. She was born in Webster, the daughter of the late Eugene Lawrence and Alice B. (Meagher) Deveau, and lived in Oxford before moving to Webster 50 years ago. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1954 and attended St. Vincent School of Nursing. Jean volunteered at Hubbard Regional Hospital in Webster and later worked in the medical records department for over 10 years. In addition, she was a member of the Webster Woman's Club, the Hubbard Regional Hospital Guild, and volunteered for many other organizations. She was a parishioner of St. Roch's Church in Oxford and later St. Louis Church in Webster. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed traveling, reading, and gardening. Jean loved her family and enjoyed opening her home and sharing the beauty of Webster Lake. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Monday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, prior to the Mass.
