Jean Marie Kovaleski

WEBSTER – Jean Marie (Legendre) Kovaleski, 90, passed away Friday, December 8, 2023, peacefully at Knollwood Nursing Center in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, John W. Kovaleski who died in 2007; two daughters, Beth Ann Kovaleski who died in 2008, Susan Marie Carn-Robillard who died in 2017; and a brother, Allen Legendre who died in 2017. She is survived by two granddaughters, Stephanie Jean Carnevale of Webster, and Ashley Marie Mroczka and her husband Sebastian of Webster; two great-grandchildren, Juliana and Vincent Carnevale; her sister-in-law, Janet Legendre of Shrewsbury; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jean was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Emile C. and Irene (Veroneau) Legendre. She graduated from Classical High School and then lived in Oxford for several years before moving to Webster over 50 years ago.

Mrs. Kovaleski was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed making clothes especially for her grandchildren. She loved going to yard sales, shopping, and decorating her home for the holidays. She often made sure her family had matching outfits for every occasion. Jean also enjoyed puzzles, scrabble, and daily breakfast with her “breakfast club.” She was always dressed to the nines in either leopard print or polka dot and had a laugh that you could hear for miles.

A funeral will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St., Dudley. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Garden of Peace in Webster. Calling hours are Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
