NORTH OXFORD – Jean F. (Porter) Jacques, 87, formerly of Maple Avenue, died peacefully on Sunday, November 29, 2015. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Roy W. Jacques Sr. of North Oxford, who died in 2009. She is survived by three children, Roy W. Jacques of Phoenix, AZ, Pamela A. Dunn and her husband David of Deerfield Beach, FL, and Michele J. Ryan of Weston; four grandchildren, Meghan Gordon and her husband Kevin of Edmond, OK, Ryan Dunn of Concord, NC, Kaila Ryan and Brianna Ryan, both of Weston, and one great grandchild, Hudson Gordon of Edmond, OK. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Porter who died in 2015. She was born in Oxford, daughter of the late Joseph and Esther (Nyberg) Porter, and was a lifelong resident of North Oxford. She graduated from Oxford High School.

Mrs. Jacques worked at the North Oxford Post Office for 25 years, retiring in 1989. In her younger years, she worked at Howard Johnson’s in Auburn and Chaffee Brothers in Oxford. She was a lifetime parishioner at St. Ann’s Church in North Oxford and was an active member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She enjoyed knitting, square dancing, weekly card games with friends, going for walks with her husband, and especially loved traveling.

The family is extremely grateful for the compassionate care of Vigilance Nursing, Good Shepherd Hospice and the staff at Sunrise of Wayland.

A funeral will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford, with a luncheon to follow. Calling hours are Friday, December 11, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Ann’s Church, P.O. Box 488, North Oxford, MA 01537, to help those in need, or to Good Shepherd Hospice, 90 Wells Ave., Newton, MA 02459.
