Janice W. Auger

OXFORD – Janice W. (Skeates) Auger, 88, of Huguenot Road, died Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Holy Trinity Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Bruce A. Auger who died in 2015.

She is survived by four children, Carol L. Uppgard and her husband David of North Oxford, Linda M. Jewell of St. Petersburg, FL, Thomas A. Auger and his former wife Cheryl Auger of Worcester, and Michael A. Auger and his wife Marie of Westminster; a sister, Carol White of Oxford; eight grandchildren, Sarah Royston and her wife Mimi of Oxford (with whom she made her home), Tammy Hansen and her partner Matt Hanna,  Daniel Kozlowski and his wife Jessica of Jacksonville, FL, Susan Ahearn and her husband Craig of Southbridge, David Auger of North Oxford, Adam Dumont of New Port Richey, FL, Robert Auger and his wife Katie of Worcester, and Joseph Auger of Worcester; her companion, Joseph Esposito of Oxford; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was born in Millbury, daughter of the late Thomas and Enis (Upgard) Skeates, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford seven years ago. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1954.

Mrs. Auger was the showroom manager at Charles Manoog Plumbing and Heating in Worcester for 28 years, retiring in 2001. Previously, she worked at Keystone Electric and the Auburn Diner. She was an active member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Oxford, where she taught Sunday school and was a lector, chalice bearer, and treasurer. Previously, she belonged to All Saints Episcopal Church in Worcester. She was a prolific knitter and loved tending to her garden.

A funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 270 Main St., Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Veteran's Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.

Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
