OXFORD - Janet T. Mitchell, 76, formerly of Liberty Lane, died Sunday, June 27, 2010, at her daughter's home in Dudley surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by seven children, Donna M. LaLiberty (Barry) of Leominster, Charlene A. Bryant (Ron) of Worcester, Kevin P. Mitchell (Jane) of Greene, ME, Pamela J. Jansson (Joel) of Dudley, Sharon L. Boyda (Jack) of Oxford, Jo-Ann L. Murphy (Robert) of Dudley, and Joseph L. Mitchell (Gina) of Worcester; her former husband, Karl E. Mitchell of Oxford; nineteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Tanya E. Jansson and Christopher M. Mitchell; four brothers, and one sister. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Joseph and Regina (Demers) Levasseur. She graduated from Worcester Girls Trade High School in Worcester in 1953. After raising her seven children, Mrs. Mitchell worked in the sewing department at Denholms and McKay for 6 years. She then worked at Smith Valve in Westboro for 14 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member and taught CCD classes at St. Ann's Church in North Oxford for many years. She enjoyed caring for her children, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as sewing and reading. A funeral will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2010, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will be at a later date at Hillside Cemetery in Auburn. Calling hours are Wednesday, June 30, 2010, from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann's Church, P.O. Box 488, North Oxford, MA 01537.
