Jane Poirier

FISKDALE - Jane M. (Senecal) Poirier, 70, died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence in Worcester, after a battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Roger E. Poirier; three children, Roger J. Poirier and his wife Dawna of Charlton, Linda J. Seguin and her husband John of Sturbridge, and Bridget A. Zietkowski and her husband Robert of Brimfield; two brothers, Paul Senecal and Raymond Senecal; a sister, Louise Lavallee; fifteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a son, Jason A. Poirier of Sturbridge who died in 2008. She was born in Southbridge, the daughter of the late Armand and Juliette (Beauregard) Senecal, and lived in Southbridge before moving to Fiskdale 40 years ago. She graduated from Wells High School in Southbridge. Mrs. Poirier was a driver for Union 61 in Brimfield for 15 years. She was a member of St. Anne & St. Patrick Parish in Sturbridge, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at St. Joseph's Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd Ext., Charlton. Burial will be private at a later date at Old Notre Dame Cemetery in Southbridge. Calling hours are Tuesday, April 16, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. in the rotunda of St. Joseph's Church in Charlton. In lieu of cut flowers, the family requests that plants be given for a memorial garden. Paradis Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
