SUTTONJames A. Seery died on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at the Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marion S. (Dyson) Seery of Sutton; two children, Pamela J. Montalvo and James A. Seery, Jr.; two sisters, Patricia Millay of Ocala, FL, and Kathleen Engwall of Beaver Creek, OH; two grandchildren, Lou Montalvo and Meara Seery; and a great-granddaughter, "Lulu" Montalvo. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ann Degnan and Marlene Nikosey. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late James C. and Helen (Burden) Seery, and lived in Oxford and Charlton before moving to Sutton fourteen years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Seery was a traffic foreman for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Highway Department for 18 years, retiring in 2002. Previously, he worked at New England High Carbon Wire in Millbury. He was an avid golfer, and had a hole-in-one at 3 different golf courses. He was a member of the Olive Branch of the Masons in Millbury and enjoyed reading. A memorial Mass will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2012, at Grace Episcopal Church, 270 Main St., Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, c/o the Memorial Fund, 270 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540, or to a charity of one's choice. Paradis Funeral Home, Oxford, is assisting with the arrangements.
