CHARLTON – James P. McAnneny, 70, of Gale Road, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nancy R. (Allen) McAnneny of Charlton; his sister, Cathleen M. McAnneny and her husband Charles Archinal of Pollocksville, NC; his brother-in-law, Michael Allen of Long Beach, WA; his sister-in-law, Patricia Pachico of Savannah, GA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. He was born in Somerville, son of the late Paul and Denise (Morse) McAnneny, and lived Somerville, Nashua, NH, Amherst, Brighton, and Wales, before moving to Charlton in 1997. He graduated from St. Mary’s of the Annunciation High School in Cambridge in 1972.
Mr. McAnneny was an IT specialist for The May Institute in Randolph for 13 years, retiring in 2020. Previously, he worked for D.M. Products in Randolph and Szfaraz in Cambridge. He was an avid reader and loved history, playing golf, traveling, hiking and camping. He was a photographer and held his first gallery show when he was 15 years old. He enjoyed acting when he was young, and recently became involved with The Bradley Playhouse in Putnam, CT.
A Celebration of his life will be held on June 30, 2024, at Bella Costa in Framingham at 2:00 p.m. His ashes will be interred at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett at 12 noon on June 22, 2024. There will be no ceremony, but whomever would like to send Jim on his way would be welcome.
