NORTH OXFORD - James V. Cashman, 57, of Ashworth Drive, died Monday, June 23, 2014. He is survived by his wife 34 years, Debra A. (Henze) Cashman; three children, Ryan James Cashman and his fiancée Cassie Miller of York, PA, Caitlyn Marie Cashman and her boyfriend Shawn Mullins of North Oxford, and Colleen Vincenza Cashman and her boyfriend Deryk Beaudreau of North Oxford; two sisters, Mary who died in 1960 and Patricia Rushford of Millbury; nieces and a nephew. Jim had special nicknames for his children whom he loved very much. His son, Ryan, will always be his "Shaman." His oldest daughter, Caitlyn, was his "Sweet Sweet" and he was her "Papa Cash" and his youngest daughter, Colleen, was his "Madge" and he was her "Padge". He was born in Worcester, the son of the late James F. and Vincenza (Villatico) Cashman, was raised in the Grafton Hill section of Worcester, and lived in North Oxford since 1986. He graduated from St. John's High School in Shrewsbury in 1974, and graduated from Worcester State College in 1979. Mr. Cashman was a computer analyst at Commerce Insurance Company. He was a member of St. Ann's Church and a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and Mustard Seed committee. Mr. Cashman was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4241 in Oxford. He served as Warden, Deputy Grand Knight, Grand Knight, Advocate, Trustee, and was currently serving as Recorder. He was also a 4th degree knight with the John Cardinal Wright Assembly. One of the events he loved chairing with the Knights of Columbus was the annual halloween party for individuals with intellectual disabilities. He was a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club and received a certificate for climbing all of the 100 tallest mountains in New England. He was a fan of all the Boston sports teams and enjoyed spending time at Cape Cod, especially Hyannis. He was a true outdoorsman and loved working in his yard and spending time with his family and friends. A funeral will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Sunday, June 29, 2014, from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
