OXFORD – James P. Butrick, 61, of Winter Street, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 14, 2025, in his home. He is survived by three children, Olivia J. Butrick of Brooklyn, NY, Aaron G. Butrick and his wife Brittney of Moosup, CT, and Garrett J. Butrick and his fiancée Cristy Farrar of Webster; his former wife, Monica J. Baker of Webster; five siblings, Edward Butrick of Agawam, Denise Butrick of Fort Myers, FL, Gina Gabel of Colorado Springs, CO, Richard Butrick of Torrington, CT, and Patti-Anne Nicholson of Fort Myers, FL; four grandchildren, Mason J. Butrick, Ava M. Butrick, Collin Farrar, and Claire Farrar; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Jacqueline Butrick.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late John F. and Virginia (Vincelette) Butrick, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1981, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Jim worked for Massachusetts Electric Company then National Grid for over 30 years. He enjoyed going to car shows, the movie theater, and practiced recreational shooting sports. He especially loved music and attending concerts with friends and family. He was interested in U.S. History, watching films and reading books on the subject, as well as attending Civil War reenactments and visiting historic landmarks. Known for his humor and gift of gab, he made friends wherever he went and will be greatly missed.
Memorial calling hours are Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 5-8 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Military funeral honors will be held on Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the conclusion of calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
