Irene Morin

OXFORD - Irene C. (Anderson) Morin, 77, of Main Street, was embraced by the arms of God on Friday, October 30, 2009, after a long and disheartening struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Her final days were quiet and peaceful, with her family by her side. Her husband of 56 years, George A. Morin, died on June 30th of this year. She was also predeceased by her two sons, William F. Morin and John P. Morin; and her brother, "Andy" Anderson. She leaves four daughters, Jean Collins of Auburn, Christine Dauphinais of Millbury, Catherine Gilchrist Rivers and Marie Brenneman, both of Oxford. She also leaves her sister, Evelyn Jezerski, and nieces and nephews. She loved to boast of her 12 grandchildren, Meghan, Erin, and Kelli Collins; Monica, Joseph, and Samuel Dauphinais; Cody Connor, Kylie, and Kianna Brenneman; and Michelle and Jaelyse of Hawaii. Irene was happiest when spending time outside tending her flower gardens and working in the yard. She enjoyed sitting on her lawn swing reading a book or just watching the world go by. She expressed her artistic abilities by creating beautiful works of stained glass which will be forever cherished by her family. She was a former member of the Oxford Woman's Club and helped conduct tours at the Willard Clock Museum. She worked in the office at Leggett and Platt for 32 years, retiring in 1994. Her family would like to thank the staff at Radius Healthcare in Worcester, especially Jill, Sandy, Edwin, and Paula, for their kind and compassionate care. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Friends are respectfully requested to meet at the church. A private family burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford is directing the arrangements.
