NORTH OXFORD - Ida A. (DeGaetano) Sneade, 82, of Leicester St., died Saturday, June 6, 2009, in her home after a battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Richard I. Sneade of North Oxford; nine children, Richard Sneade Jr. of Sutton, Beverly Bayer of Charlton, John Sneade of Oxford, Barbara Sargent of North Oxford, Janet Elbag of Dudley, Debra Bryn of Dudley, Tom Sneade of Glendale, AZ, Maryellen Langway of North Oxford, and Donna Firestine of Glendale, AZ; two brothers, Angelo DeGaetano Jr. of Millbury and Richard DeGaetano of Sutton; three sisters, Maria Rinaldi of Florida, Grace Massiello of Boylston, and Elvira Tavano of New Hampshire; 27 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two sons, Robert Sneade and Dennis Sneade, both of Oxford; a daughter, Shirley Stepien of Worcester; and two brothers, Robert DeGaetano and John DeGaetano. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Angelo M. and Ellen (Scampini) DeGaetano, and lived in North Oxford for 48 years. Ida spent her entire life devoted to her twelve children and her husband. In her spare time, Ida could be found at the baseball fields cheering on the players. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Family members are invited to the funeral home for a visitation prior to the Mass. Friends are respectfully requested to meet at the church. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is in care of the arrangements.
