Helen Mekalian

WORCESTER - Helen Mekalian, 89, died Friday, January 4, 2013, at Holy Trinity Nursing Home in Worcester. She is survived by two nephews, Soren A. Mikaelian and his wife JoAnne, and Christopher Mikaelian; a niece, Susan Chadwick; and a great nephew, Bryan Mikaelian. She was predeceased by two brothers, Soren Mikaelian of Texas and Peter Makaelian of Oxford. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret (Kandoian) Mekaelian, and lived most of her life in Worcester. Miss Mekalian was the apartment manager for her 3-decker home in Worcester. Previously, she worked at an insurance agency in Philadelphia. She enjoyed gardening and loved animals. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2013, at the Armenian Apostolic Holy Trinity Church, 635 Grove Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery in Worcester. There are no calling hours. Paradis Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
