Helen Laflamme

NORTH OXFORD - Helen C. (Gallant) LaFlamme, 88, of Leicester Street, died Monday, November 21, 2011, at the Life Care Center of Auburn after a long illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Walter C. LaFlamme of North Oxford, who died in 1993; and a daughter, Joan M. LaFlamme, who died in 1993. She is survived by her son, Donald P. LaFlamme and his wife Mamie of Chuluota, FL; two daughters, Shirley A. Ryznal and her husband Phillip of North Oxford, and Sally M. Chomes and her husband Nicholas of Oxford; two brothers, Ronald Gallant of Charlton and Steven Gallant of Rochdale; two sisters, Irene Robidoux of North Oxford and Rita Gravel of Brimfield; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She was born in Oxford, the daughter of the late William and Agnes (Montville) Gallant, and was a lifelong resident of North Oxford. Mrs. LaFlamme worked at the T.J. Maxx Distribution Warehouse in Worcester for several years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. Ann's Church in North Oxford, and played cards in a weekly women's pitch group for many years. Mrs. LaFlamme enjoyed traveling, singing, and loved to be with her family. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides at the Auburn Life Care Center for their exceptional care over the past several months. A funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Tuesday, November 22, 2011, from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
