Helen Balcunas

OXFORD - Helen (Williams) Balcunas, 92, died Friday, May 3, 2013, at Webster Manor Long Term Care in Webster, after a short illness. She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen J. Balcunas who died in 1983. She is survived by two children, Stephen P. Balcunas and his companion June Booker of 6 Old Worcester Road, Oxford, and Helen Balcunas of Oxford; her daughter-in-law, Linda M. Balcunas of Oxford; two grandchildren, Joshua S. Balcunas and his wife Andrea of Charlton, and Jessica L. Waters and her husband Seth of Charlton; two great grandchildren, Kennadie Balcunas of Charlton and Mason Waters of Charlton; and several nephews and nieces. She was born in Webster on July 13, 1920, and lived most of her life in Oxford. She enjoyed spending time at the Huguenot Candle Company in Oxford, operated by her son. Her influence and advice at the store were much appreciated. The family would also like to thank the staff at Webster Manor for the kindness they showed during her illness. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Chapel at Notre Dame Mausoleum in Worcester. There are no calling hours. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
