DUDLEY – Harry G. Saad, 94, of Knollwood Road, died Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus in Worcester, after a short illness.
His wife Lorraine R. (Choiniere) Saad, 91, died Saturday, May 21, 2022, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester, after a short illness.
Mr. and Mrs. Saad celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in February.
They are survived by four children, Dennis H. Saad and his wife Corlene of Spencer, Denise J. Abruzzise and her husband John of Dudley, Darlene D. Moseley and her husband Justin of Webster, and Daniel E. Saad of Spencer; seven grandchildren, Tenille Chaisson, John Abruzzise, Thomas Abruzzise, Nathan Saad, Zachary Saad, Nicole Riley, and Amber Opatka; eleven great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. They are predeceased by their son, Darryl A. Saad who died in 2015.
Harry is also survived by two sisters, Tina Wennerberg of Oxford and Anne Naleski of Dudley. He is predeceased by nine brothers, Joseph Saad, John Saad, Michael Saad, Napoleon “Nippy” Saad, Anthony “Bobby” Saad, Alfred Saad, William Saad, Franklin “Sonny” Saad, and George “Tuta” Saad; and six sisters, Elvira Sousa, Estelle Jackson, Aurora Saad, Agnes Smolen, Mary Guy, and Alice “Lou” Saad. Harry was the son of the late George and Joanna (Monterio) Saad.
Lorraine is also survived by a sister, Joan Andrade of Rhode Island. She is predeceased by five brothers, Wilfred Choiniere, Norman Choiniere, Louis “Tubby” Choiniere, Leo Choiniere, and Roland Choiniere. Lorraine was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Emma (Casey) Choiniere.
Mr. Saad was president and owner of George Saad and Sons Textile Mill in Spencer for many years. Mrs. Saad was the treasurer of the company. They loved dancing, traveling, and spending time with their family. Harry also enjoyed a good game of horseshoes.
A funeral Mass for Mr. and Mrs. Saad will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Those attending are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church. At the request of the family, burial will be held privately at St. Roch’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in their memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen St., 2nd Floor, Framingham, MA 01701. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
