Harry Card, Sr.

WOODSTOCK, CT - Harry F. Card, Sr., 85, of Bungay Hill Rd., rejoined his wife after being apart for 2 years, on April 3, 2012. He died at Webster Manor Nursing Home in Webster. His wife of 65 years, Gloria J. (Duchaine) Card, died in 2009. He is survived by ten daughters, one son, one brother, 27 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. He was also predeceased by two sons. He was born in Pawcatuck, RI, and lived in Rhode Island, Oxford, Nebraska, and Dudley before moving to Woodstock 9 years ago. He served in the Massachusetts Air National Guard at Camp Edwards during World War II. Mr. Card was a Class A Machinist at Millbury Tool and Die for over 20 years, retiring in 1990. He loved to play cards and enjoyed playing pitch at the Ole Tyme Inn in Millbury. He liked fishing, word search puzzles, was an avid Red Sox fan, and enjoyed camping at Hideaway Cove in Killingly, CT. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Please meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
