Harold Howe

OXFORD - Harold W. Howe, 84, of Wellington Road, died Tuesday, January 3, 2011, in his home. He was predeceased by his wife, Florence M. (Dubuc) Howe who died in 1993. He is survived by five children, Lu Ann Pappas and her husband Paul of Auburn, Donald W. Howe-Hughes and partner William of Webster, Gary P. Howe of Southbridge, Cynthia Fish and her husband Thomas of Auburn, and Judy L. Howe of Worcester; a sister, Virginia Love of Millbrook, NY; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Auburn, the son of the late Arthur W. and Edith G. (Rich) Howe, and lived in Auburn before moving to Oxford in 1950. Mr. Howe graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School in 1946. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked in building maintenance at Smith Mill in Cherry Valley for 10 years, retiring several years ago. A military graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at North Cemetery, Main St., Oxford, with the Oxford Memorial Honor Guard participating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
