OXFORD - Glen R. Chase, 59, of Pine Street, died Monday, December 31, 2012, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus, after a battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Michelle Y. (Fontaine) Chase of Oxford; his son, Cory G. Chase and his fiancée Tara Schacht of South Boston; his grandson, Anthony C. Chase of South Boston; his mother, Carol (Johnson) Chase of Worcester; three brothers, Ralph Chase, Ernest Chase, and Edward Chase; four sisters, Donna Gerard, Karen Sheldon, Alice Swett, and Edith Chase; many nephews and nieces, as well as a loving extended family. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Richard Chase, and lived in Worcester and Sutton before moving to Oxford 25 years ago. Mr. Chase was a machinist at Normac Manufacturing in Westboro for over 10 years. He was a member of the Canal Sportsman's Club in Bourne, the Auburn Sportsman's Club in Auburn, and the Worcester County League of Sportsmen. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing and hunting. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013, from 2-5 p.m. at the Auburn Sportsman's Club, 50 Elm St., Auburn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the UMass Memorial Foundation, c/o Cancer Research Fund, P.O. Box 2795, Worcester, MA 01613. Paradis Funeral Home in Oxford is assisting with the arrangements.
