Gertrude Cadarette

OXFORD - Gertrude E. (McGrath) Cadarette, 86, died February 25, 2012, in her home surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Edward S. Cadarette of Oxford who died in 2010. She is survived by three sons, Douglas Cadarette of Oxford, James Cadarette and his wife Audrey of Woodstock, CT, and Edward Cadarette and his wife Sandra of Oxford; two daughters, Janet LaBonte and her husband Michael of Dudley, and Joanne O'Connor and her husband Kevin of Oxford; her brother, George McGrath of Winthrop; eight grandchildren, Christopher Cadarette of Worcester, Jack Cadarette and his wife Lauren of Oxford, Emily Kent and her husband James of Marlboro, John F. Cadarette of Woodstock, CT, Dane LaBonte and his fiancée Kayla Pyle of Sturbridge, Corey LaBonte of Everett, Kerri and Kyle O'Connor of Oxford, and Kristen Cadarette of Auburn; and three great grandchildren, Joseph, John J., and Cameron Cadarette of Auburn. She was born in Boston, the daughter of the late John F. and Theresa (St. Croix) McGrath, and lived in Boston and Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1953. She graduated from East Boston High School. Mrs. Cadarette was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford. She was a loving mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family and enjoyed playing cards with friends. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2012, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Those attending are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
