OXFORD - Gerard M. Jacques, 99, formerly of Bailey Road, died Monday, February 16, 2015, at the Life Care Center of Auburn. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Lucille J. (Santimore) Jacques of Oxford, who died in 2004. He is survived by four children, David G. Jacques and his wife Beverly of Webster, Nancy E. Spooner and her husband Leonard of Webster, Patricia A. Goodell and her husband Richard of West Tisbury, and Deborah J. McGrath and her husband Stephen of Oxford; ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He was predeceased by four brothers, M. Joseph Jacques, Arthur N. Jacques, Alphege Jacques, and Alphonse Jacques; and a sister, Sylvia Ledoux. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Joseph P. and Victoria (Gouin) Jacques, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1955. Mr. Jacques was a bus driver for the W.R.T.A. in Worcester for 39 years, retiring in 1993. In addition, he worked for Fox Tours in Millbury for 9 years. He was a member of St. Ann's Church in North Oxford and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Post 4528 in Leicester. He loved his home, gardening, and working on projects around the house. He enjoyed going on long tours with Fox Tours with members of the Oxford Senior Center. The family would like to give a special thank you to the caring and compassionate staff at the Life Care Center of Auburn for everything they did for their dad during his stay there. A funeral will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Webster. Calling hours are Friday, February 20, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Ann's Church, P.O. Box 488, North Oxford, MA 01537.
