NORTH OXFORD – Gerald J. Butler, 70, of Ennis Road, died peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Brookside Rehabilitation and Health Center in Webster. He is survived by two children, Christina R. Strzelecki and her husband Vincent of North Oxford, and Daniel A. Butler and his fiancée Kristin Fournier of Southbridge; two brothers, Donald Butler of Oregon and Eugene Butler of New Mexico; three grandchildren, Vincent, Isabella, and Dakota; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two brothers, William Butler and Raymond Butler. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Hermos Butler and Germaine (Robidoux) Wheeler, and was a lifelong resident of North Oxford. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Butler was a welder at Buffalo Steel in Worcester, retiring many years ago. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, enjoyed building models, and was an artist. He had a love for flying and enjoyed flying small airplanes. He loved watching John Wayne movies, NASCAR, and baseball.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2019, at St. Roch’s Cemetery, Federal Hill Road, Oxford. There are no calling hours. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
