George Saad, Sr.

OXFORD - George J. Saad, Sr., 84, of Carron Lane, died with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at Webster Manor Nursing Home in Webster after a short illness. He was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Florence A. (Gancy) Saad of Oxford, who died in 1988. He is survived by two children, George J. Saad, Jr. and his wife Diane of Dudley, and Michele M. Raymond and her husband Steven of Oxford; two brothers, Joseph Saad Sr. and Charles Saad, both of Dudley; four sisters, Theresa Krevosky of Oxford, Lucille Keefe of Webster, Elizabeth Wetherbee of Webster, and Barbara Paquette of North Grosvenordale, CT; three grandchildren, Brian Saad, Christopher Raymond, and Joshua Raymond; his longtime companion, Barbara Nowak of Webster; many nephews and nieces, and the family dog, Bridget. He was predeceased by a grandson, Adam Saad of Dudley, who died in 1995; and several brothers and sisters. He was born in Oxford, the son of the late Michael and Exilda (Deraleau) Saad, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. Mr. Saad worked at Saad's Garnetting in North Oxford and Webster for over 40 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford and was an avid Red Sox fan. He loved working in his yard and going to the casino. The family would like to thank the staff at Webster Manor for their special care and attention in the past month. A funeral will be held on Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
