George Saad, Jr.

OXFORD - George J. "Junior" "Tuta" Saad, Jr., 83, of Rawson Avenue, died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jeanette D. "Jeannie" Konkol-Saad of Oxford; three sons, Kevin L. Saad and his wife Cheryl of Austin, TX, David L. Saad and his wife Elise of Rumney, NH, and John J. Marcustry and his wife Michelle of Douglas; two brothers, Harry G. Saad of Dudley and Franklin G. "Sonny" Saad of Oxford; four sisters, Mary J. Guy, Alice "Lou" Saad, Anne J. Nalesky, and Tina J. Winneburg, all of Oxford; five grandchildren, many nephews and nieces; and Melisa L. Reardon and her husband Brad and their family, who he thought of as his daughter. He was born in Oxford, the son of the late George J. and Joanna (Monterio) Saad Sr., and lived most of his life in Oxford. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1949, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Saad retired in 1995 as a captain with the Worcester County Sheriff's Department in Worcester, after 18 years of service. He was a member of the Worcester County Sheriff's Association and a member of the V.F.W. Post 5663 in Oxford. He enjoyed boating and loved to dance. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Those attending are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church. Military burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Thursday, April 10, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.
