AUBURN – George J. Corriveau, 95, of Washington Street, died Friday, March 1, 2019, in his home. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Arlene E. (Smith) Corriveau of Auburn; three children, George M. Corriveau and his wife Deb of Hamburg, NJ, Lynne Moody and her husband Steven of Spring Hills, FL, and Steven Corriveau of Naples, FL; five grandchildren, Michael Corriveau and his wife Lou, Scott Corriveau and his wife Linda, Shane Moody, Randy Moody and his wife Jess, and Kerri Moody; six great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Zack, Jake, Brendon, Brayden, and Riley; and two close friends, Maryann Corriveau and Steven Moody. He was predeceased by his son, John “Jack” Corriveau who died in 1974. He was born in Douglas, son of the late George and Katherine (Kelley) Corriveau, and previously lived in Auburn, Barre, Naples, FL, and Oxford. He graduated from Douglas High School in 1942 and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
Mr. Corriveau worked for Wyman-Gordon Company for 40 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the American Legion Post 58 in Oxford, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Roch’s Church, 334 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
