Genevieve Lorkiewicz

OXFORD – Genevieve S. (Holden) Lorkiewicz, 96, of North Falmouth and formerly of Oxford, died Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Royal Megansett Nursing Home in North Falmouth. She was born in Thompson, CT, daughter of the late John and Josephine (Jurczyk) Holden, and was raised in Spencer.

Genevieve attended high school in Spencer though she did not graduate. She worked as a seamstress and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, crafts and animals.

Genevieve was predeceased by her husband William in 1996; her daughter, Barbara Aittaniemi in 2016; her brothers Henry Holden and Thaddeus Holden; and her sister Cecilia Kosciuszek. She is survived by her granddaughter Gretchen Hui, her husband Billy; and great-granddaughter Alicia, along with several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Garden of Peace in Webster. A calling hour will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home, prior to the Mass.
