Gail Metcalf

NORTH OXFORD - Gail P. (Robidoux) Metcalf, 71, of Southbridge Road, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013, in her home. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, L. William Metcalf, Jr. of North Oxford; three children, Donna Bryant and her husband Christopher of King George, VA, Timothy Metcalf and his wife Erin of Virginia, and Susan Tully and her husband Timothy of Fort Valley, VA; her mother, Irene T. Robidoux of North Oxford; a brother, Jeffrey P. Robidoux and his wife Marie of Charlton; a sister, Dorothy Pierce and her husband Dwight of Florida; and eleven grandchildren. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Arthur A. Robidoux, and lived in Rochdale, Oxford, and Florida, before moving to North Oxford in 1960. She graduated from Bishop Moore High School in Orlando, FL, in 1960. Mrs. Metcalf was the parts room manager at the Worcester Envelope Company in Auburn for 17 years, retiring in 2008. Previously, she worked at Carlton Woolen Mills in Rochdale for several years. She was a wonderful wife and mother who enjoyed staying home to raise her children and spending summers with family and friends at Misquamicut Beach. A memorial Mass will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Paradis Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
