Gail Cunningham

OXFORD – Gail M. (Perkins) Cunningham, 74, of Sigourney Street, died Monday, May 9, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She is survived by two children, Thomas A. Cunningham Jr. and his wife Phyllis of Oxford, and Maureen H. Brule and her husband Joseph of Worcester; a brother, Arthur R. Perkins of Sterling; a sister, Fay Lovejoy of Rhode Island; four grandchildren, Katie Cunningham, Meghan Cunningham, Mackenzie Brule, and Leanna Ciukaj; a great grandson, Brian Trapasso II; and many nephews and nieces. She was born in Clinton, daughter of the late Norman and Estelle (Mosso) Perkins, and lived in Oxford since 1970. She graduated from David Hale Fanning Trade High School for Girls in Worcester in 1959.

Mrs. Cunningham was a van driver for the town of Oxford for 27 years. Previously, she was manager of the Salvation Army Thrift Store, a hairdresser, and a dental assistant. She was a Girl Scout leader in Oxford for many years and enjoyed going to yard sales.

The family would like to thank the V.N.A. of Southern Worcester County and Tri-Valley Elder Services for the care and compassion given to their mother.

A funeral service will be held privately. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Animal Shelter, 325 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540, or to the Community Cat Connection, 289 Thompson Rd., Webster, MA 01570. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
