Francis Flynn

d. October 16, 2012

NORTH OXFORD/FORT LAUDERDALE - Francis (Frank) E. Flynn, 48 lost his long battle to lung cancer on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale. For over a year he had been coming to Dana Farber in Boston for his treatment. He leaves his wife Lisa, his parents John I. (Jack) & Grace Flynn of North Oxford, four brothers, John, Mark Stephen, Joseph and his sister Christine Golub. He leaves five nieces, Callen, Brenna, Merris, Alexa and Olivia and 2 nephews Andrew and Michael Golub. Frank was an entrepreneur who loved life and lived it to the fullest right to the end. He attended Oxford schools and St. John's High School and later received his BS degree from Villanova. He proudly served in the U. S. Coast Guard. After working for Mass Electric he moved to Florida to become a skipper for a business group. When Hurricane Andrew hit Homestead, he put his construction hat back on and helped to rebuild the devastated area. From there he started a boat business, followed by a bike business and then back to specialized construction of Hamams (steam rooms). His fundraising ability supported 2 pet projects, St. Jude Hospital in Memphis and the Boys & Girls Club in Fort Lauderdale. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 10th at 11 AM at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made payable to The Francis E. Flynn Memorial Fund, C/O Sovereign Bank, 335 Main Street, Oxford, MA 01540 or to St. Ann's Church, P.O. Box 488, North Oxford, MA 01537. Paradis Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
