THOMPSON, CT - Francis R. Bley, 81, of Paula Lane, died Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. He is survived by his wife, Eva D. Bley of Thompson; two children, Kevin R. Bley of Red Hook, NY, and Darlene M. Boligan and her husband Kevin of Thompson; a brother, John E. "Jack" Bley Jr. and his wife Kay of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren, Andrew and Zachary Bley, Alexander and Nicholas Boligan, and Dakota Chapman; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his wife of 18 years, Edna M. Nuttall) Bley who died in 2001; his wife of 3 years, Sharon Y. (Ferraro) Bley who died in 2006; and his former wife, Joan M. Bley who died in 2010. He was born in Worcester, son of the late J. Earl and Anna Irene (Ryan) Bley, and lived in Worcester, Oxford, and Quinebaug, before moving to Thompson 12 years ago. He graduated from St. John's High School in Worcester, attended Holy Cross College, and graduated from Worcester Junior College. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Bley was retired from XL Environmental Company in North Grosvenordale, CT, where he worked for many years. Previously, he was a loan officer at Worcester County Bank in Worcester. He was a member of the Greendale Men's Club in Worcester. He loved to golf and was an alumnus of St. John's Golf Tournaments. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Friends and family are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's School, 378 Main St., Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
