Floreen Levasseur

OXFORD - Floreen R. (Campbell) Levasseur, 80, formerly of Main St., died Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Overlook Masonic Home in Charlton. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Joseph A. Levasseur Jr. of Oxford, who died in 2003. She is survived by three children, Edward J. Levasseur of Reno, NV, Joyce J. Harrington and her husband John of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, and Collette L. M. Gage and her husband Roger of Oxford; a brother, Paul F. Campbell of Raleigh, NC; eight grandchildren, four great granddaughters, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by three brothers, Walter, Jack, and Bill Campbell; and a sister, Pauline Leduc. She was born in Uxbridge, the daughter of the late John and Floreen (Russell) Campbell, and lived in Whitinsville and Auburn before moving to Oxford in 1974. Mrs. Levasseur worked at Denholm and McKay Co. in Worcester retiring many years ago. She was a member of the Woodstock Covenant Evangelical Church in Woodstock, CT. Mrs. Levasseur was a member of the Clara Barton Order of the Eastern Star in Oxford, was an advisor for Bancroft Assembly Order of Rainbow for Girls - in Worcester. She was a member and Past Regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution - Ebenezer Larned Chapter in Oxford, she was a Past Chief Daughter of Thistle Lodge #2 Daughters of Scotia in Worcester and volunteered for the Cub Scouts and the 4-H Club in North Brookfield. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the Chapel at the Overlook Masonic Home, 88 Masonic Home Road, Charlton. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at North Cemetery, Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Learning Center, 1 Ionic Ave., Worcester, MA 01608, or to the Shriner's Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is assisting with arrangements.
