Flora Whittier

SUTTON - Flora L. (Baier) (Moore) Whittier, 93, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at the Meadows of Leicester. She was predeceased by her first husband, Stanley Moore of Sutton; and her second husband, Robert Whittier of Sutton. She is survived by five children, David W. Moore of Sutton, Donald H. Moore of Sutton, Carol I. Calvert of Collegeville, PA, Jonathan S. Moore of Plano, TX, and James H. Moore of Oxford; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two sons, Alan B. Moore and Joel E. Moore; and a daughter, Winifred I. Moore. She was born in Waltham, the daughter of the late Henry and Alexandra (Karvonen) Baier, and lived most of her life in Sutton. Mrs. Whittier worked as a clerk in the retail industry for many years. She was a member and clerk of the West Sutton Baptist Church in Sutton, and was a member of the Hillside Club in West Sutton for many years. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at West Sutton Cemetery, Sutton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
