LEICESTER - Exilda "Del" (Volker) Wright Soucie, 93, died Friday, July 8, 2011, at Parson's Hill Nursing Home in Worcester. Her first husband Kenneth R. Wright died in 1940. Her second husband Francis J. Soucie died in 1975. She is also predeceased by a son, William H. Wright who died in 1979; and a brother, Louis Volker. Exilda leaves three children, Brave Eagle and his wife Gab Suk of Charlton; Doris Lewis of Auburn, and Francis Soucie of Leicester; a stepson, Raymond Soucie of Cherry Valley; a sister, Mary Puzo of Worcester; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Exilda was born in Worcester on July 12, 1917, the daughter of the late Louis and Delphine (Beauvais) Volker. She attended St. Peter's High School and later became a certified nurse's aide. Exilda retired at the age of 73. She spent most of her life in Leicester and attended the First Congregational Church of Leicester, where she also taught Sunday School for many years. She later became a member of St. Pius X Church in Leicester. A loving, inspiring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend; Del will be missed and remembered by all. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, July 11, 2011, from 9:30 - 11 a.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Pine Grove Cemetery in Spencer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, P.O. Box 122, Leicester, MA 01524.
