Evelyn Pisegna

OXFORD - Evelyn M. (Dautrich) Pisegna, 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2014, surrounded by her family whom she so dearly loved and cherished. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Alfred Pisegna, Jr.; her son James Pisegna and his wife Julia of Oxford; her daughter, Ruth Marquis and her husband Henry of Oxford; three grandchildren, Taylor and Evelyn Marquis and Olivia Pisegna, all of Oxford; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Charles and Jeddiah Dautrich and her sister, Eleanor (Dautrich) Dee. She was born in Sutton, the daughter of the late Delwyn and Theresa (Dunn) Dautrich, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford in 2004. She was an active member of the Worcester business community for many years and the owner of Sbrogna's Auto School before retiring. Evelyn believed that her greatest achievement in life was her two children and her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. She had the gift of making everyone who knew her feel special and her love of family and friends was always warmly given. She was the true matriarch of her family and will be deeply missed. Evelyn also had a deep and compassionate love of animals. Evelyn was an avid card player - some would even say that she was a card shark. Nothing made her happier than a pick-up game of Poker or Pitch after a holiday meal or any evening when family and friends gathered. She also played countless games of Gin Rummy with her husband, Al, and was proud to tell anyone who the real winner was! Calling hours are Friday, August 1, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Her funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main Street, Oxford. Burial will be in North Cemetery, Oxford. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Humane Society, 2100 L Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20037.
