Ethel Tornberg

OXFORD - Ethel E. (Irish) Tornberg, 68, of Wheelock St., died Friday, November 6, 2009, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Dudley. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Richard F. Tornberg Sr. of Oxford; five children, Leeann Dufresne and her husband Paul of Oxford, June Poirier and her husband Richard of Oxford, Tracy Surrette of Oxford, Richard Tornberg and his wife Tina of Rutland, and Lisa Hresko and her husband John of Belchertown; her mother, Evelyn (McKenzie) Irish of Bancroft, ME; a brother, John Irish of Wytopitlock, ME; three sisters, Beverly Irish of Lewiston, ME, Donna Bailey of Bancroft, ME, and Katherine Worster of Kingman, ME; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a sister, Jeannette Chase of Arlington, MA. She was born in Bancroft, ME, the daughter of the late Donald Irish, and lived in Boston and Worcester before moving to Oxford 18 years ago. Mrs. Tornberg worked at Sandalwood Nursing Home in Oxford for many years, retiring in 1999. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Friday, November 13, 2009, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
