Ethel Elliott

OXFORD - Ethel M. (Coonan) Elliott, 90, formerly of Waite Street, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at the Woods at Eddy Pond in Auburn. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Vernon R. Elliott who died in 2004. She is survived by three children, Jo Ann Luikey and her husband Robert of Millbury, Nancy Elliott of Oxford, and David R. Elliott and his wife Michelle of Auburn; her sister, Gladys Coonan of Webster; and three grandchildren, Deanna Raymond, Peter Luikey, and Timothy Elliott and his fiancée Shanah Mastro. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph C. Coonan who died in 1999, and George F. Coonan who died in 2009; and three sisters, Jean Antos who died in 2001, Olive Coonan who died in 2005, and Doris Marsh who died in 1985. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late George and Gladys (Ellis) Coonan, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1940. Mrs. Elliott was the office manager at Millbury Ford Mercury for 17 years. Previously, she was a bookkeeper at Deary Brothers Farm in Dudley for 11 years. She was an active member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford, where she was a C.C.D. teacher and participated in various ministries. The family would like to thank the VNA nurses and the staff at the Woods at Eddy Pond for their exceptional care, compassion, and friendship. A funeral will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery in Webster. Calling hours are Friday, June 28, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home.
