Ethel Caissie

October 7, 1916 — August 6, 2010

OXFORD - Ethel F. Caissie, 93, passed from this world on Friday, August 6, 2010, following a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease at Southbridge Radius Healthcare. She celebrated her 93rd birthday on October 7, 2009, and was born in Charlton to the late Edward and Nellie Faneuf. On June 22, 2009, she celebrated her 69th wedding anniversary with the love of her life, John H. Caissie who preceded her in death on August 10, 2009, and who was standing with God to welcome her home. Ethel graduated from Oxford High School and has lived here most of her life except for a brief stay in Florida. She worked as the personal secretary to the president of Chaffee Brothers and then was a teller for many years at Guarantee Bank in Oxford. Ethel was a lifelong member of St. Roch's Church. Ethel is survived by her two loving and devoted sons, Robert and his fiancée Mary Levesque of Oxford, and Donald and his wife Carmelita of Safety Harbor, FL; two grandchildren, Lisa Caissie of Worcester and Beth Caissie of Shutesbury, MA; as well as one great grandson, Elias; and one brother, Earl Faneuf of Oxford. In addition to her husband and parents, two brothers, Howard and Richard, as well as her "adopted" brother Arthur Giroux, preceded her in death. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends all of whom she loved dearly. Funeral services for Ethel F. Caissie will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or the Parkinson's disease Foundation. The family is deeply appreciative of the exemplary care and compassion extended by the doctors and staff of Summit Eldercare and Southbridge Radius Healthcare. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
