Ernie Tromp

OXFORD - Ernie R.E. (Weterings) Tromp, 80, of 49 Rocky Hill Road, died at the Millbury Re-Hab Home on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. She leaves her husband of 61 years, Maarten C. Tromp, six daughters, Patricia L. Kruglewicz, Marianne B. McArdle, Isabel J. Pellegrini, Margie Tromp-Milas, Cornelia J. Couture, Lillian C. Tromp; three sons-in-law, Stephen Kruglewicz, Peter McArdle, Michael P. Milas; and three grandsons, Nicola Pellegrini, Maarten Pellegrini, and Derek Couture. Ernie was one of 17 children, 8 of who predecease her. She leaves her surviving siblings and many nieces and nephews, and cousins living in Holland, the Netherlands. Born on the island of Sumatra, Dutch East Indies (nka Indonesia), the daughter of the late Adrianes J. Weterings and Cornelia Hooijer, Ernie resided in Oxford for the last 48 years. Ernie was a former parishioner of St. Roch's Catholic Church in Oxford. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse and a Certified Nurse's Aide throughout Worcester County until her retirement. Ernie was an avid gardener. Her one acre of land in Oxford burst with amazing blooms, flowering bushes and trees every month throughout the year. She also loved to cook and do crafts. Ernie was a devoted loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed so very much. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2013, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph's Garden of Peace in Webster. Calling hours are Monday, January 21, 2013, from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.
