OXFORD - Ernest T. Johnson, 91, of Shady Lane, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at the Life Care Center of Auburn after an illness. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Corilda M. (LeBlanc) Johnson of Oxford; two daughters, Carolyn A. Zabarsky of Jupiter, FL, and Janice M. Poole and her husband William of Dudley; four grandchildren, Dawn Poole, Bryant Poole, Jason Zabarsky, and Marni Zabarsky; seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Henry Johnson of Worcester and Harold Johnson of New Hampshire; a sister, Mildred Johnson of Shrewsbury; and a son-in-law, Robert Zabarsky of Worcester. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late John A. and Olive A. (Hautannen) Johnson, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1956. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he served as a sergeant in the 3rd Battalion of the 517th Parachute Infantry Division. Mr. Johnson worked at Anderson Corporation in Worcester for over 40 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed being home with his family and working outdoors. Most of all, he will be remembered as a dedicated family man. A funeral service will be held privately. Burial with military honors will be private at North Cemetery in Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the DAV Memorial Program, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
